Choose Your Path
Planning is dynamic and our program reflects that. At USF, our interdisciplinary curriculum allows you to create a customized course of study tailored to fit your passions and the demands of today's urban planners.

Tampa Bay: A Living Laboratory
Tampa Bay is at the epicenter of Florida's growth: our diverse, lively urban settings provide unlimited pathways to becoming a planner. We collaborate with practitioners across the region, who provide professional access, internships and individual mentoring (through the MAPS program) to our students.

Plan Your Future
These collaborations with Tampa Bay's professional community provide a nearly 100% job placement rate for USF MURP graduates. Our alumni have gone on to rewarding careers in the public, private and non-profit sectors, all over Florida, as well as in cities like New York, Chicago, Nashville, and Atlanta.

The MURP program is actively engaged with the Sun Coast and Heart of Florida sections of the American Planning Association Florida Chapter.

Mission
As a part of the School of Public Affairs, a group of diverse, interdisciplinary practitioners, the Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) program has a strong commitment to community engaged scholarship and to making differences in the Tampa Bay metropolitan region.

As part of a Research I institution, the MURP program engages in innovative, applied research; delivers quality education to a diverse student population; and provides public service to the surrounding community. We prepare leaders in the field of urban and regional planning to meet community, national and global needs.
